Vineyards

In the two privately owned vineyards we use exclusively Greek varieties perfectly adapted to the conditions of our island.

Vineyard of Steni

The vineyard is located at Steni village at an altitude of 430 meters in sandy loam soil with schist lying underground. In this terroir, we cultivate the four Greek varieties Assyrtiko, Monemvasia, Mavrothiriko and Mavrotragano. The low temperatures in the summer and the coolness of the “Antara” phenomenon of low mist during the ripening period promise an excellent quality harvest.

The vineyard is based on organic cultivation, everything is done manually and precisely thanks to our highly trained staff who ensure the health and longevity of the vines. Taking care of biodiversity, we apply green manure and we avoid the use of pesticides and herbicides.

Vineyard of Kakia Skala

The vineyard is located in the area of Kakia Skala on the north-eastern side of the island of Tinos. It got its name from how difficult it was to cross the area once. The field planted in 2023 exclusively with the Assyrtiko variety. Inside the vineyard and in the perimeter of it dominate large granite formations, while there are also to be found in the sandy soil, making it ideal for growing of vines.

The varieties

Assyrtiko

An internationally recognized white variety originating from the volcanic island of Santorini. It is a variety resistant to drought due to the deep root system it develops Characteristics of the wines produced are the vibrant acidity, the high alcohol and the intense presence of minerality, elements that give the wines of Assyrtiko great potential for aging and development.

Monemvasia

A white variety originating from the Monemvasia region of the Peloponnese. Charismatic, with a strong aromatic profile of mainly citrus and white-fleshed fruits, refreshing acidity and medium body. It is usually blended with other white and red varieties in order to enhance, refine and soften their wild character.

Mavrothiriko

With the traditional name – Mavrothiliko – the red variety comes from the island of Nisyros. Due to its great resistance to dry climatic conditions, Mavrothiriko has adapted perfectly to the terroir of Tinos. It has a particularly interesting aromatic profile of mainly spices and herbs that make the wines produced exceptional to accompany many types of fish.

Mavrotragano

Iconic red variety originating from the island of Santorini. Wild in temperament and difficult to manage, it requires constant care and supervision of its growth. The wines produced are characterized by a dark red color, interesting aromatic personality expressed with aromas of red ripe fruits mainly cherry and plum and notes of leather , pepper and coffee. The rich body and powerful tannins compose a charming palette in the mouth with a long aftertaste of sweet ripe fruit.

Koumari – Koumariano

Red indigenous variety from the island of Tinos. Plants are planted nongrafted in rootstock resistant to phylloxera, they are very old and formed in a native form called “aplotaria”. The variety is harvested earlier than the other red varieties of the island. A forgotten variety without many records and vinifications, which make it difficult to appreciate it. Some small experimental vinifications show it to be a variety with great perspective and quality potential.

White Potamisi

The king of the island! Potamisi is a white indigenous variety of Tinos. The plants are very old, most of them over 50 years old, planted nongrafted in rootstock resistant to phylloxera without treatments for their growth. They are formed in a native system called “aplotaria”. Potamisi grapes are hard-skinned, crunchy and have a strong phenolic character. They produce fresh aromatic wines with a creamy texture on the palate and light phenolic character.
